What is Mainstay all about? The idea behind Mainstay began years ago when the founders, Shelley and Lindsay, realized they wanted to reduce the stress of business owners by providing quality and affordable bookkeeping, payroll, and human resource services. Additionally, both wanted to create a work environment that felt more like home and functioned like a family. As with anything great, when preparation met opportunity the company started to form.

The name Mainstay came about as a random thought turned branding opportunity once the exact definition was determined to be “a thing on which something else is based or depends.” Shelley and Lindsay both felt this was the most accurate description given the importance of readily available financial data for purposes of decision-making and operational maintenance.

Shelley, Lindsay, and Betsy complete the Mainstay team that has been helping small- to medium-sized business owners grow their companies ever since!
